What We Work On

Anxiety, Worry & Panic

Anxiety reshapes thought, body, and behaviour — narrowing what feels possible and turning ordinary situations into ones that feel heightened or threatening. Therapy can help you re-engage with what matters, even when worry is loud.

  • Persistent or generalised worry

  • Panic attacks or sudden surges of fear

  • Social anxiety or performance-related fears

  • Avoidance of situations, places or people

  • Physical symptoms like racing heart, tension or nausea

  • Difficulty concentrating, switching off, or sitting with uncertainty

Depression & Low Mood

Depression can quietly reshape how you experience yourself, your relationships, and what feels worth doing; often turning effort into exhaustion and meaning into uncertainty. Support can help reconnect you with the things that matter, gently and at your pace.

  • Persistent low mood, sadness, or loss of interest in things you usually enjoy

  • Fatigue, low energy, or difficulty starting tasks

  • Sleep changes — too much, too little, or fragmented

  • Self-critical, hopeless, or numb thoughts

  • Withdrawal from people, activities, or routines

  • Feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of who you are right now

Insomnia & Sleep Difficulties

Sleep difficulties affect emotional balance, concentration, and resilience — and often become cycles of effort, worry, and frustration that make rest feel less accessible the harder you try.

  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep

  • Unrefreshing or fragmented sleep

  • Racing thoughts or night-time overthinking

  • Irregular sleep patterns or disrupted routines

  • Daytime fatigue, irritability, or reduced focus

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

OCD involves intrusive, distressing thoughts (obsessions) and the actions or rituals carried out to manage them (compulsions). It can take many forms — from contamination fears to relationship doubt to harm-focused thoughts — and often runs much deeper than it first appears. Evidence-based therapy can help loosen the cycle without trying to argue with the thoughts themselves.

  • Intrusive thoughts, images or urges that feel deeply distressing

  • Compulsive checking, washing, counting, or seeking reassurance

  • Mental rituals, replaying events, or chasing certainty

  • Relationship, harm, or sexual-orientation themed obsessions

  • Avoidance of triggers, situations, or specific people

  • Significant time, energy, or distress consumed by the cycle

Bereavement & Grief

Grief is not a single experience but a layered one — sorrow, exhaustion, anger, longing, and at times relief, sometimes all in the same day. Support can help you live alongside loss without pressure to "move on" from it.

  • Recent loss of someone close to you

  • Anticipatory grief while caring for a loved one

  • Complicated, prolonged, or "stuck" grief

  • Anniversary or trigger-based grief reactions

  • Loss of identity, role, or relationship after a death

  • Disenfranchised grief — losses others may not recognise

Workplace Stress & Burnout

Sustained pressure, demanding workloads, or difficult workplace dynamics can erode emotional bandwidth and leave you feeling depleted long after the working day ends. Therapy can help you find footing without having to leave the role behind to do it.

  • Chronic work stress or sustained pressure

  • Burnout, exhaustion, or loss of motivation

  • Difficult relationships with colleagues, clients, or managers

  • Performance anxiety, imposter feelings, or fear of being "found out"

  • Difficulty disconnecting from work outside hours

  • Wrestling with whether to stay, leave, or change direction

How We Work

Our Approach

We use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-informed approach centred on psychological flexibility.

In practice, this means learning to:

  • Notice thoughts without being controlled by them

  • Make room for uncomfortable emotions

  • Clarify what truly matters to you

  • Take meaningful action, even when outcomes are uncertain

ACT does not remove difficulty from life. It helps you respond to it more effectively. Sessions are reflective, structured, and grounded in real-world application.

How We Can Help You

Our work focuses on helping you:

  • Navigate uncertainty without paralysis

  • Reduce the impact of overthinking and self-criticism

  • Make decisions aligned with your values

  • Respond differently to stress and pressure

  • Reconnect with what feels meaningful

We work with capable, thoughtful adults who want depth — not surface-level reassurance, and not motivational hype.

The aim is practical psychological strength: the ability to handle complexity without losing yourself.

Sessions & Structure

Most clients begin with an initial assessment, followed by a defined block of sessions or an ongoing therapeutic relationship. Both are valid; your therapist will recommend an approach based on what you're working with.

Sessions are 50 minutes and held weekly where possible — consistency tends to support meaningful change. Initial assessments run 75 minutes to allow proper space for history-taking and formulation.

Therapy is collaborative and paced appropriately. There is no pressure to commit long-term. We work within clear ethical boundaries and clinical scope, supporting capable adults seeking psychological depth.

Online vs In-Person Therapy

Both formats offer effective psychological treatment. Each brings slightly different qualities.

In-person therapy can offer a greater sense of containment for some people, particularly when the therapeutic setting itself contributes to a feeling of safety or focus. The physical transition from everyday life into a therapeutic space provides a useful boundary between the external world and internal exploration.

Online therapy allows for greater flexibility and consistency, especially for those with demanding schedules, frequent travel, or limited access to local services. For many clients, it removes logistical barriers that might otherwise delay or disrupt treatment. Research consistently shows online therapy is no less effective than face-to-face work when delivered by qualified professionals.

You might choose online if you:

  • Have a demanding schedule or travel frequently

  • Prefer the discretion or ease of home-based sessions

  • Live outside Horsham, in central London, or overseas

  • Value access to a broader range of therapeutic specialists

Sessions & Investment

Therapy is most effective when it's paced to your life rather than rushed to fit a number of sessions. We recommend beginning with a complimentary 15-minute consultation — a no-commitment conversation to understand what you're looking for and whether we're the right fit. From there, your therapist will outline a recommended approach.

Sessions are 50 minutes unless noted. Initial assessments run 75 minutes to allow proper space for history-taking and formulation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Eunoia Health is a contemporary psychological health service offering therapy for individuals and organisations. We provide confidential, evidence-informed support designed to help people navigate challenges, improve wellbeing, and develop greater psychological understanding in everyday life.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based psychological approach that helps you develop psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, handle difficult thoughts and emotions more effectively, and take meaningful action guided by your values.

Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT helps you change your relationship with it. The focus is not just insight, but practical change — making clearer decisions, responding more thoughtfully under pressure, and building a more sustainable way of living and working.

The free 15-minute consultation is designed for exactly this. Most people start unsure whether they want ongoing therapy, a one-off Wellbeing MOT, or specialist sleep work. The consultation is a chance to discuss what you're looking for and receive a recommendation, with no obligation to book.

You can begin by booking a free consultation directly through our website. If you need assistance, please email info@eunoiahealth.uk and our team will be happy to help.

We encourage clients to work consistently with one therapist where possible, as continuity supports therapeutic progress. You are, however, welcome to change therapists if the fit isn't right.

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled with 48 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled within this timeframe will be credited to your account. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed sessions, are charged in full, as it is rarely possible to refill the appointment slot at short notice.

Therapists can be contacted for practical matters such as changing session format. Ongoing therapeutic support between sessions is generally not provided.

If you require urgent support, please contact emergency services or the Samaritans on 116 123.

Confidentiality is central to therapy. Information shared in sessions is kept private, except in rare circumstances where there is a risk of serious harm to you or others. Your therapist will explain confidentiality fully at the start of your initial assessment.

Sessions are available online via secure video, or in person at our premises in Horsham, West Sussex.

We aim to provide a safe and supportive experience for all clients. If you have concerns, please contact support@eunoiahealth.uk and we will respond promptly. You can also reach us by phone.
